2016.04.01 Thank you for your interest in TOP CAREER Asian Pacific(=TCAP)!

This is our 4th year to hold this career event with an ambition to provide job opportunities in Japan for students in South East Asia, East Asia, and Australia.
We have been proudly supporting career search of students around the world each year.
Prior registration for TOP CAREER is required to participate in TCAP.
Those who pass our pre-screening process will be invited to attend the event.
Transportation fee and accommodation will be provided!

Selection Process

Process Contents
Registration/Applying to the event
Please fill out the necessary boxes on the TOP CAREER International website and sign up for an account. There are application buttons on our homepage.
Documentation screening
We will screen everyone’s application based on their CV and Video CV.
Regarding the language of the Video CV, many of the companies attending the event are looking for people who can speak Japanese and so if you are studying Japanese please use Japanese in your video.
※1:We will talk about the contents of the Video CV in the Q&A slide.
Preliminary consultation
Those who pass the documentation screening will have a consultation session with a TOP CAREER consultant. We will ask about why you want to work in Japan, what type of job you want to do and your past experiences. Please take some time to think about some answers to these questions before you have the consultation.
Confirmation of Company interviews
Company interviews for those who have had the preliminary consultation will be decided taking into consideration the applicants wishes and the needs of employers. TOP CAREER will contact you regarding the interview times in advance.
Flight tickets/Accommodation booking
We will support some of the expenses for flights and accommodation for those whose interviews are confirmed and are invited to Singapore. ※Please refer to the information in the follow slides regarding money. Please note that you will be expected to book your flights and accommodation yourself.
On the day of the event
We will hold the event for 2 days ? the first day will be for round one interviews and the second day will be for the round two interviews. We will hold company information sessions at the beginning of the first day. You will be able to have interviews with the companies that you have scheduled to have an appointment with in advance.

Language Requirements

  • Either of following:
  • Japanese skills at a daily conversation level or above
  • English skills at a business level or above

Travel Arrangements

  • Invitees make their own travel arrangements to Singapore, including travel insurance, flight, accommodation and visa (if required)
  • Travel Expenses to Singapore will be supported by TOP CARRER International and the amount will depend on the student's port of departure. The support fee will be paid in cash at the end of the event.

Question Answer
How many people are expected to attend? Around 250 students in total are scheduled to attend ? 200 who have passed the preliminary screening and 50students who will attend on the day.
When is the application deadline? You need to apply in advance and pass the TOP CAREER preliminary screening for us to provide support for your travel and accommodation expenses and the deadline for this is 9/30.
We screen applicants at anytime but please apply early on. Company interviews are restricted and ,so you might miss a chance to interview with company you desire if your applicatons is late.
Could you tell us more about the self-promotion videos? Please take a video and answer the questions written "The biggest accomplishment in your life" on My Page and upload it to "Upload Video" on My Page.
What level of Japanese is required? The Japanese level required for each company differs but generally speaking around business level Japanese ? approximately JLPT N3 or higher.
Are all the work locations in Japan? It depends on the company but most are based in Japan.
What type of companies will be attending the event? Last year 15 major Japanese companies attended the event of which the details can be found online but in general there will be companies from a wide range of industries such as financial companies, trading companies, airline companies, machine manufacturers, telecommunications manufacturers, real estate developers and companies from the service sector.
What type and how many companies will attend this year? Around 25 companies are scheduled to attend. Companies from a wide range of industries are scheduled to attend, with many being major Japanese companies including trading companies, financial companies, manufacturers, IT communications, service companies.
When will you know which companies will be attending? We will announce them from July onwards.
Can I apply even if I have graduated or have work experience? Yes, you can apply.
When will invitees be confirmed? Around the end of October, 3 weeks before the event.
Will the interview be in Japanese? It depends mainly on the company but companies who have Japanese as a necessity in their application requirements ? job descriptions can be found on the companies’ websites.
When will I receive an offer? It depends on the company but at the earliest some companies give out offers on the 2nd day of the event (10/30). There are also times when following the event the final interview takes place in Japan and the company gives out an offer then. (In this scenario the company will pay for your flights)
Do I have to attend both days of the event? Only those who have passed interviews on the first day are required to attend on the 2nd day as well.
