TOP CAREER Europe 2017

TOP CAREER Europe is a recruiting event where global Japanese companies will be hiring students graduating from universities all over Europe.

Who can participate?

  • Those who can start working at entry-level from Autumn 2018 to Spring 2020
  • Those whose Japanese skill is at daily conversation level or above / Those whose English skill is at business level or above
    *required language level depends on the company so please check each application page for the details.
  • Japanese native studying at European universities also welcome
  • All majors welcome

How does it work?

Selection Process

Process Contents
STEP1
Registration
Please sign up on TOP CAREER International first and register to the event.
STEP2
Document screening
Screening will be based on your CV and also information on registered profile.
※Please upload your CV either in English or Japanese
※Please update your profile as detailed as possible so that we can match suitable positions for you.
STEP3
Preliminary consultation
Those who pass the documentation screening will have a consultation session with a TOP CAREER consultant. We will ask about why you want to work in Japan, what type of job you want to do and your past experiences. Please take some time to think about some answers to these questions before you have the consultation.
STEP4
Interview schedule confirmation
Company interviews will be held for those who have passed the preliminary consultation. Interviews will consider both the preferences of the applicant and the needs of the employer. TOP CAREER will contact applicants in advance with the interview times.
STEP5
Flight tickets/Accommodation booking
We will support some of the expenses for flights and accommodation for those whose interviews are confirmed and are invited to London. ※Please refer to the information here regarding money. Please note that you will be expected to book your flights and accommodation by yourself.
STEP6
TOP CAREER Europe
We will hold the event for 2 days – the first day will be for round one interviews and the second day will be for the round two interviews. We will hold company information sessions at the beginning of the first day. You will be able to have interviews with the companies that you have already had appointment in advance.

Qualification

  • Those who will be graduate from universities in Europe before 31/March/2020
  • Bachelor degree or above
  • All majors welcome

Language Requirements

  • Either of following:
  • Japanese skills at daily conversation level or above
  • English skills at business level or above
    ※Language level requirements depend on each company so please check each company application page for the details.

Travel Arrangements

  • Invitees need to make their own travel arrangements to London including travel insurance (recommended), hotel booking, and visa (if needed)
  • Travel expenses to London will be supported by TOP CAREER International. The amount will depend on the student’s place of departure. The support fee will be paid in cash following the end of the event.

FAQs for STUDENTS

Question Answer
How many people are expected to attend? Around 80 candidates in total are scheduled to attend.
When is the application deadline? October 31, 2017.  We screen applicants at anytime so please apply early on. You might miss a chance to interview with the company you desire if your application is late.
Are all the work locations in Japan? It depends on the company but most are based in Japan.
How many and what type of companies will be attending the event? In the previous event, four companies participated in the event(you can find them here) For participating companies for this event will be announced later.
When will you know which companies will be attending? We will announce them from this summer onwards.
Can I apply even if I have graduated or have work experience? Yes, you can apply.
When will invitees be confirmed? Around the end of October to the beginning of November 2017
Will the interview be in Japanese? It depends on the company but some list Japanese as a necessity in their application requirements.- Job descriptions can be found on the companies’ websites.
When will I receive an offer? It depends on the company but at the earliest some companies give out offers on the 2nd day of the event (12th of Nov, 2017). There are also times when following the event the final interview takes place in Japan and the company gives out an offer then. (In this scenario the company will pay for your flights)
Do I have to attend both days of the event? Only those who have passed interviews on the first day are required to attend on the 2nd day as well.
